SIXTH MISSION: MIND MAP

WHY TO USE MIND MAPS INSIDE THE CLASSROOM?

In a Mind Map, information is structured in a way that mirrors exactly how the brain functions – in a radiant rather than linear manner. A Mind Map literally ‘maps’ out your thoughts, using associations, connections and triggers to stimulate further ideas.

That's is the perfect union because as a teacher, you can show what you are thinking or what you want to teach in a easier and organizer way and that helps students to understand the information that they should learn. Moreover, students can use mind maps as well to express themselves, to work with a variety of contents and create a  of their knowledge about a topic.

MY MIND MAP

I created a mind map to develop a classroom activity. The classroom activitywill be carry out in the 4º Grade of Primary Education, Natural Science subject in order to work the plants topic.

In the activity, the students in groups must be able to do research surfing on Internet about different characteristics of the plants: respiration, photosynthesis, sexual reproduction, asexual reproduction and global warming. In order to explain the activity, the mind map explains where to find the information with links to usefull webpages and the steps student should follow with the link to the Genially App to do the final task.

The mind map also includes: the objectives, the assesment, team work and timing.  It has different visuals to make it more attractive to the students, also, it has different links to webpages and apps.
