- WHO I AM?
Hello humans! I am Blue boy and I am 35 years old, I come from the future to tell you what is going on there. I live in the 8765
year in Mars. I shouldn’t tell you that but a meteorite call “We need a change
in Education” will impact directly to the Education Earth, and everyone will be
injured. So, I am here in a Mission call: Renovate the education to help you to
prevent the future disaster in your educational world.
Let’s see what you have around here, oh I remember
this class, it looks exactly the same as the day that I left it, I used to be a
physics teacher here, in Gold Coast High School, in Spain, the tables and chairs, the blackboard, lots of
book. Oh men, you don’t know that the tables should be arranged in groups, the blackboard
out, we need a digital board on and a computer. My laboratory, how many memories here. You could use a
blog on Internet to share all the information about physics; we needed it on
Mars. We had to start from zero, was like prehistory, and all the information
were in the books.
Are you serious? The only digital tool is a TV and it
is used to present chips commercials.
So humans, specially teachers, if you want to know how to survive to the “Change
educational meteorite” you should come with me to the mission: Renovate the
education. We will learn how ICTs will be very important for the future of the
teachers and students, and the survival of the educational world and I will

- WHY TO USE AN AVATAR INSIDE THE CLASSROOM?
To use an avatar could be really interesting and useful inside the classroom, the students will work with ICTS in order to develop the digital competence that the Primary Education Curriculum establishes. Students can work and teach different contents that appear in the different settings of the app, such as the school room and objects, sea or space. Moreover, students can search for information about the setting or different kind of information that they need to create any story, they will be young film makers, they will decide the plot, the characters, the setting, the stories, the vocabulary and grammar structures need for it are include on it. So students will improve the writing skill, creative thinking and digital competence with an innovated and motivated material.
- APP CHARACTERISTICS
I used the App Toontastic to do an Avatar. This app has a lot of advantages, and
I will explain them to make clear how this app works. Toontastic
characteristics and steps to create it:

1. Its’ free and it’s easy to use for student from 6-12 years old
2. You don’t need an account
3. There are three options: Short story, classic story,
science report and making your own story. The short story is made up of three
parts: beginning, middle and end. The
classic story is composed of: Setup, conflict, challenge, climax and
resolution. The science report has 5 parts, question, hypothesis, experiment,
results, and conclusion.
4. In each story you could settings: Dolores high
school, curiosity crater (space), the dojo (fruit ninja), tunich’s temple
(explores), shipshape cove (pirates), cyan sea (atlantis), sneaky peak (spy),
Camp whatwasthat (spooky camp), the fearless flyer (airpunks)
5. You can add characters or create them. If you choose
a character you have a wide range of them, normal people, astronauts, animals,
aliens, etc.
6. You can choose more than one character.
7. At last, there is making your own story option,
students can create their own characters and setting.
8. After choose the story option, setting and character,
you can record it, moving the characters around the settings and including
voice.
9. After recording the video with your voice, you can
edit it, introducing sound and music.
10. It’s very easy to save the video or sent by email.
