MINDFULNESS AUDIO PROJECT



Mindfulness is a simple meditation technique that emphasizes paying attention to the present moment. Recent studies indicates that mindfulness can help our students improve their abilities to pay attention, to calm down when they are upset, and to make better decisions. In short, it helps with emotional regulation and cognitive focus. Mindfulness can help minimize anxiety and increase happiness.

Usually, I like to start the most of the days at school doing relaxing exercises, meditation exercises or mindfulness exercises with my students. Taking the benefits of mindfulness, I propose a mindfulness project to carry out inside the classroom.

The students with the mindfulness audio project are going to be the mindfulness teachers for a while. Mindfulness exercises are very precise and shorts, so, the students are going work in groups to record an audio explaining a mindfulness exercises that the whole classroom at the beginning of the day should perform all together. You can have a look at the whole mindfulness project in this document: GOOGLE DOC which explains the objectives, competences, activities, tools and other useful information.



The digital tools to carry out the project are the following one: 

-Students will use Audacity to record the audio, it’s an App really easy to use, they will get
used to it in ten seconds. You only need a few seconds to download it in the computer,
it's totally free and you can start using it without even explanation because it is really simple.
Play, pause, play, and keep the audio.

-The class will use SoundCloud to create the collaborative channel and the playlist to upload
the different audios. SoundCloud could be confused at the beginning and you need an
account with email to enjoy it. If you spend a few minutes in the app you will see that it is
very simple, you have the option of upload the audios and create playlists, to order the audios,
to upload photos, and to write comments. Also, you can edit whenever you want !

To sum up, mindful awareness exercises help children develop concentration and self-awareness. So, just keep calm and do mindfluness at class.
