Nowadays, teachers need to have a proficiency english level in order to have better chances in our educational world, they also need to have an advance digital competence in order to face the new challenges and demands of the 21th century education.
The education is constantly changing, for that reason, teachers should be training and learning all the time. I participated in a webinar (a video conference) was called "Mobile Learning and Digital Competence for Education" which was given by Maria Jesús García (@mjgsm) who gave me the answers about, where do teacher can get this training? where can they find courses about the digital world with useful digital tools? INTEF is the answer.
What is INTEF?
INTEF is a unit of the Ministry of Education, the National Institute of Educational Technologies and Teacher training, in its webpage 'AprendeINTEF' teachers can find a wide range of online free courses to develop their digital competence. This digital competence is measured with an international framework likewise the language framework: A1, A2, B1, B2... All the teacher could have an Digital Competence Portfolio for Teachers that is a service for the acknowledge and improvement of the Digital Teaching Competence
Intef lets you develop your digital competence through a AprendeINTEF platform where you have an active profile and you increase your digital competence filling different skills which are divided in levels, the levels in blocks and each block in different skills, you have to get all of them to get one specific certificate.
Besides, the learners in order to complete the different digital skills of a level need digital references, and to get the digital references the learners need to do courses which give them an INTEF's Badge Backpacks. They prove one's digital skills.
Moreover, there are three different ways to develop the digital competences and create digital products:
EDUPILLS: Edupills is a mobile phone application that let people learn anything anywhere. It is a micro-learning app for teachers, aimed at enabling teachers to acquire and/or develop digital skills, skills and competencies in a simple and fast way. These are some of the main features of EduPills.
-The educational pills are categorized according to the Areas of the Common Framework of Digital Competence Teaching 2017 of INTEF.
-Download the EduPills app on your tablet or mobile and start using it anywhere.
-Each educational pill you complete is an achievement you can share on your social networks.
-You can bookmark educational self-training pills on the topics that interest you most and access them quickly.
NOOC INTEF: This type of course lasts a few hours, usually between three and five. They are tutored courses with collaborative learning.
MOOC INTEF: This course has more duration than the previous ones, they last around 4 and 5 weeks. And it is based on collaborative open learning based on active and innovative methodologies, usually linked to other projects.
To sum up, I would like to engage everybody to develop their digital competence through the AprendeINTEF courses in order to use more ICT resources in our classrooms, firstly, because
we are living in the digital area and we have to get used to it, and secondly because we
should be in the same “vives” that our students, if they almost were
born with a computer in their hands, we should be able to answer to their
desires and their present.
