TWELFTH MISSION: 1 2 3 ACTION!

As I told you in the NINTH MISSION: STORYBOARD, Laura Carballo (@lauuracarballo) Laura Marquéz (@lauxo0), Lucia Roza (@luciamaerem) and Patricia Portela (@patriciaportg) and I  were recording the flipped video clip about the Importance of women across the history.

That's my second post about the flipped video, so let's continue explaining what we did .

2. RECORDING THE VIDEO

We prepared all the materials before going to the Ministry, clothes, accessories, and visuals. We went to the "future classroom lab" because it has a chroma wall that it is really useful when you want to change the background of your video.

We practised the dialogues and we spent around 45 minutes recording the video. It was really fun !

3. EDIT THE VIDEO

We recorded the video in order to use it in a flipped classroom.

-What is a flipped classroom?

The flipped classroom is a blended learning strategy with the aim to improve student engagement and outcomes. It requires students to prepare learning before they meet and engage with peers in purposeful activities.

Using this new method, student will learn the content watching the video at home and they will do the activities and task at the classroom, this methodology let teacher use their free time to support and asses the students.

-How do we edit our video?

There are a lot of app that let you edit your video using chroma effects such as Media Player, Movie Maker or iMovie. Finally, we decided to use VideoPad.

VideoPad characteristics:

1.VideoPad could be download in Windows and Mac software.

2.You can add pictures, music and text at the same time.
3.You can change colours, letters, sizes, shapes, etc
4.You can upload pictures, music and text from your PC.
5.It's really easy to get used to and to use it.
6.This app let students over 10 years old to work with it.

VideoPad helps us to edit our video, also, we needed a Youtube tutorial in order to change the chroma background into a images. The tutorial gave us the clues to edit. We added background, music and text. And that's is the outcome.

The three steps, the storyboard, recording the video and editing the video was really interesting.
Firstly, the planning of the storyboard working in groups was very meaningful, we shared ideas
and we learnt from each other. Secondly, recording the video was really fun and a little stressful
because, we did not have much time. And finally, editing the video was complicated because
we did not find a easy program to use, but at the end, it was worthy to see the outcome.

In our society, we should teach our student what really matter. Teaching values in our classroom is also important, we should discuss with our pupils the gender equality to develop values of respect and this video clip is the way. This video is really useful because we can work lots of subjects: arts , science, history and values. With this video we will ask our students to make a time line , to investigate the women's right history, to analyse if there's still a differences between men and women in our society. Moreover, we also want our students to know that men are women are equal and they should have the same possibilities.

The objectives of this video project are:

-To know the importance of women through history
-To know some important women in history such as: Cleopatre, Marie Curie, Frida Kahlo, Naomi Parker, Joan of Arc, Grace Hopper, Marilyn Monroy, Teresa of Calcutta, Coco Channel and Malala Yousafzai
-To know what this women accomplish and why this accomplishments were important.
-To understand that women and men are equals.
-To get to know the life of this women.

I would like to sum up my post with the final message of our video with you the following words:

"I used to think there were no rules in our world. But I was wrong. There are no rules
if you're a boy but there are rules if you're a girl.
Whatever you choose, however many roads you travel, I hope that
you choose not to be a lady. I hope you will find some way to break the rules
and make a little trouble out there. And I also hope that you will choose to make some
of that trouble on behalf of women. Don't ever let someone tell you, you cannot do something.
You got a dream, you got to protect it.People want to tell you, you can’t do it.
You want something, go get it. Period. We can do it!"

Enjoy our video and laugh a lot!
